One of the biggest automotive manufacturing companies in the world is placing a bet on something new: humanoid robots.
What’s happening:
- Automotive company Schaeffler has formed a new partnership with Humanoid to begin deploying hundreds of humanoid robots into their factories globally
Why it matters:
- Schaeffler has publicly stated they are aiming to both deploy humanoid robots at scale within their own operations as well as becoming a leading supplier of bearings, rotary gearboxes, electric motors and other hardware components for companies developing humanoid robots

- Humanoid’s flagship robot known as HMND 01 Alpha will be used for production tasks and automating logistics at Schaeffler’s facilities
- The HMND 01 Alpha humanoid robot is capable of lifting up to 15 kilograms of weight, packing objects and leveraging sensor technology to navigate cluttered or complex manufacturing environments
