There’s a new copper company coming to the New York Stock Exchange. And they own one of the most important assets in Zambia.

What’s happening:

  • CopperTech has submitted a Form S-1 to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission to complete an IPO financing round and become a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange

By the numbers:

  • CopperTech will issue roughly 23.5M common shares between $16.00 USD and $18.00 USD as part of their IPO financing round

Why it matters:

  • CopperTech’s flagship asset is the Konkola Copper Mines located in Zambia which is one of the world’s highest grade copper deposits as well as a major source of cobalt

Going deeper:

  • Indian billionaire Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta Resources is the single largest shareholder of CopperTech and will control roughly 85% of the voting power in the company upon it going public
  • CopperTech is aiming to be a fully integrated large scale producer of copper and also operates a smelter, refinery and tailings leach plant
