NASA has just awarded a new mega contract to an aerospace company in America. And they’re about to go public on the Nasdaq.
What’s happening:
- Firefly Aerospace has won a new $176.7M USD contract from NASA under the Commercial Lunar Payload Services program
Why it matters:
- This is the first time ever that NASA will use a commercial partner to deploy multiple rovers and stationary instruments to the lunar South Pole

- Firefly Aerospace will use their Elytra orbital vehicle and their Blue Ghost lunar lander to transport two rovers and three scientific instruments to the lunar South Pole
- Firefly Aerospace also just recently made major waves on Wall Street with a half a billion dollar IPO financing round which is being led by Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan
