- Lucid Motors (NASDAQ: LCID) and SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) have launched a new artificial intelligence powered voice assistant in Lucid vehicles
How it works:
- Lucid has launched Lucid Assistant in their vehicles which is entirely powered by SoundHound AI’s technology and is capable of operating largely without any cellular connectivity
- Individuals are able to ask Lucid Assistant about everything from questions about their vehicle, to weather, to sports and even stock prices
Why it matters:
- Bringing voice assistants into automobiles has been a growing trend, with European car giant Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) previously cutting a new deal with SoundHound AI for developing voice powered artificial intelligence assistants that can run without cellular connectivity
- Lucid Motors has been on a hyper ambitious path to becoming a dominant player in electric vehicles, which has been fuelled in large part by continual investment from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund
