There’s a major opportunity in drone delivery technology. And one of Ireland’s most exciting startups wants to continue to be on the leading edge of it.
What’s happening:
- Irish drone delivery startup Manna has just raised $30M USD in a new financing round
Why it matters:
- The latest funding round for Manna was led by multiple prominent venture capital investors, including Tapestry VC, Molten Ventures and even Coca-Cola
Going deeper:
- Coca-Cola previously formed a partnership with Manna which is focused on exploring ways to use drones to make short distance deliveries faster and with significantly fewer carbon emissions
- Manna is currently operating in the United States of America and Ireland and has also just recently begun a new pilot project in Finland as part of a partnership with food delivery giant Wolt
The intrigue:
- Manna has publicly stated they are one of the only drone delivery companies in the world that is profitable on every delivery they make, which is largely due to the custom design of their hardware and battery swapping technology where new batteries are installed during each cargo load
