- Sam Altman co-founded crypto project World has officially launched a new messaging app known as World Chat
How it works:
- World Chat functions as an app that is integrated directly into World’s proprietary crypto wallet known as World App wallet
- individuals who have verified their identity on World are able to use World Chat to directly connect and seamlessly send digital asset payments to other users
- Individuals who have not yet verified their identity through World can still use World Chat, however their messages show up in a different colour than individuals who are verified
- All messaging that occurs on World Chat is secured by end-to-end encryption
Why it matters:
- World has continued to be one of the most ambitious and controversial projects in all of crypto, which has been fuelled by both new technology innovation and ongoing legal disputes over the ethics of their iris scanning hardware
