Sam Altman's OpenAI Is Ushering In The AI Agent Era

OpenAI changed the world’s perception of artificial intelligence with the launch of ChatGPT. Now, they want to do it again with artificial intelligence agents.

• OpenAI has officially launched their very first AI agent known as Operator
  

The big idea:‍

• Operator is able to take a simple text command and autonomously perform tasks on the internet
  
• Currently, Operator is capable of doing tasks such as making reservations at a restaurant, booking travel and ordering groceries
  

Why it matters:‍

• This is the first time that OpenAI has debuted an artificial intelligence technology that can go beyond conversational capabilities and actually perform tasks autonomously based solely off of simple instructions

• OpenAI has publicly stated they have already struck partnerships with companies such as Uber (NASDAQ: UBER) and DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) to experiment with new capabilities and tasks for Operator

• OpenAI also just recently announced their involvement in Project Stargate alongside of Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) and SoftBank to inject half a trillion dollars into building the future of artificial intelligence in the United States of America
