- San Antonio, Texas based defense technology startup Darkhive has raised $4 million in a seed round
- The round was led by Crosslink Capital and included other notable venture funds such as MVP Ventures, Capital Factory and Stellar Ventures
The big idea:
- Darkhive builds autonomous drones for public safety and military purposes
- Their flagship product known as Yellowjacket is capable of indoor threat detection, surveillance and performing short distance reconnaissance missions
The intrigue:
- The Air Force Research Lab has given an award to Darkhive for their innovative software that accompanies their drones
By the numbers:
- Darkhive currently has 8 contracts with the United States Department of Defense
- Those contracts with the Department Of Defense are worth a cumulative $14M USD and are intended to further the development of their autonomous drones
