One of the most ambitious new humanoid robots in the world has just been unveiled. And it’s aiming to change the future of automation.
What’s happening:
- Chinese home appliance and technology company Midea Group has unveiled their newest six armed humanoid robot known as MIRO U
Why it matters:
- MIRO U is one of the most advanced humanoid robots globally and is capable of operating all six bionic arms at once to do multiple tasks simultaneously
Going deeper:
- MIRO U is purpose built for autonomous tasks in warehouses and manufacturing facilities and can vertically lift its upper body, rotate 360 degrees in place and use its lower arms to lift heavy objects while its upper arms assemble items
- Midea Group has publicly stated they plan to immediately begin deploying their MIRO U humanoid robots into a washing machine plant as a pilot project in China before fully integrating it into all of their operations

- Midea Group has been investing heavily into robotics hardware and software for more than a decade and notably previously acquired German robot manufacturer KUKA
